Mag park – Of the many things I love, nature ranks among the top. Flowers in particular, I hold dear to my heart. With the cooperation of Mother Nature’s cultivating care, and the gentle labor of a gardener’s hands, great miracles are created among us. And so, I decided to visit the Butchart Gardens in British Columbia.

I found the Butchart Gardens to be perfectly exquisite. Though smaller than I had expected, the landscaping exhibited laudable taste and the array of colors made me feel as though I were in some sort of paradise. The Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden were in particular worth seeing.

My personal favorites were the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden. Swashed with every shade of red, and many of yellow and creamy whites, a visit to the Rose Garden was much like entering a perfume store. Was this what princesses and Alices (in Wonderland) had encountered in the long ago days of fairy tales?

The Japanese Garden gave off a wonderfully tranquil aura that made me want to suspend time forever. I especially loved the flow of the water and the lily pads sleeping peacefully on the pool. The little red bridge contrasted sharply with the greenery surrounding it and came as a great reminder of the brighter colors just beyond the muted emerald sweeping its way through the area.

Also, young children might be interested in the Rose Carousel, which costs only $2 plus tax. It features a whole zoo of animals including ostriches and bears and horses to ride on. In the summer, there are also fireworks that are a dazzling sight for any tourist. This too, would be great for the kids. With music playing in the background and a multitude of sparkle and glitter, any visitor who comes in the summer should not miss this. The flower-themed fireworks and look like roses and dahlias as they light up the night sky.

As I finished my visit to the Butchart Gardens, I went to the Seed and Gift Shop to buy some seeds to plant in my own garden. I would highly recommend this because they have a large variety to choose from so you may be able to take a piece of this paradise to your very own backyard.

Overall, I thought the trip to Butchart Gardens was really worth it. There was so much to enjoy as I walked around and so much to love as I took photo after photo. I would advise you to come in the summertime of course when the flowers are in full bloom. I hope you will be as enthralled as I was.

Repairs, rentals and shops are easy to find, whether you are at the resort, or downtown Winter Park.  You can also find a wide variety of restaurants and bars, with food that is just as good as it is diverse.

Music sounds better with a backdrop like the Continental Divide, and you just may find out for yourself, as there are music festivals and concerts happening almost every weekend during the Summer.  Events like the Jazz Festival and the Food, Wine & Beer Festival may require advance planning for stays in Winter Park.
